As a frequent visitor to Orr springs, I just found out that they will be temporarily (let's hope) closing for tuesdays, wednesdays and thursdays. My understanding is that this sad state of affairs is due to inadequate patronage. It seems that attendance has been weak since the fires last summer. Some people still even seem to think that it burned down! The fires did come very close, but nothing at the springs burned, and you'd have to look close to see that there were fires in the area at all. The closures at the time were due to heavy smoke and by request of the fire fighters. This decrease in patronage must be coming at a bad time after what must have been very expensive, but very necessary, renovations last year. So, visit Orr and bring a friend!
