we were there 3 weeks ago - just before new years - progress is good - and the soak was sooo very fine. i got pics of the construction (no time to upload now) but neglected to photograph the architects renderings (elevations are on a folding piece of foam core in the library). i'm gonna miss the way it was - but they seem to be doing it right - with respect and love for the beauty and history of the place.

presently, the redwood tub sits at the end of the pool (opposite the saunas) under a temporary gazebo. the wet sauna was sporadic, often cold and dry. crowd was small just before new years.

we stayed in a yurt up the hill for the first time (usually stay in the rooms around the lodge or one of the 4 adjoining) and the yurt was good - but a bit distant for the winter. i like to sleep closer to the water when it's cold out.

staff was friendlier than ever - and since we stayed 4 days we decided to visit some friends in point reyes (we're from ventura) and to eat some oysters in tomales bay. made a nice day trip.
