Re: yurt questions
Thu, August 9, 2007 - 3:38 PMI think the yurts at Orr are round sod roof single room houses that are comfortably furnished.
They have a sky light and various windows. I don't think they have private bathrooms, but I'm sure they have elect.
You can call them to find out the current rates, and they need to be reserved.
For a single person, camping is the best deal ($ wise) I camped there a few nights back in July.
The tent sites are nice and there are just a few of them, so its never crowded.
Hope this helps.

Re: yurt questions
Sat, August 18, 2007 - 3:09 AMi'm not sure why that person responded, cuz they didn't know what they're talking about!
there is only one sod roof yurt at orr, and it's the original, old yurt, room #1. i personally like that one WAY better than the new yurts, which are wood, not with private bath, and clustered in a huge group, far from the springs. yes they have electricity. there is a communal bathroom nearby. pricing is for the yurt, not for the person. their prices went up since they re-did the baths. i think it's around $130 a nite approx., and a little more for wkends. call them, 707.462.6277.
they got rid of the group room, unfortunately. camp sites are AWESOME there, highly recommended, and now the only "affordable" way to visit orr. enjoy!!
